Woah... You’ve either found a really unusual restoration, or something very rare there; the mini traveller (or wagon) was only sold for the first two generations, before being replaced by the clubman version, which lacked the wood panel long like this one; however, mk1 and mk2 minis also didn’t have side indicators, wheels and arches like that, or an interior as plush looking as the one in there. However, this is all changeable stuff; what caught my attention though is the doors; early minis (so mk1 and 2s) all had eternal hinges and slightly smaller doors. Although I can’t see the size of the doors, it’s unlikely that someone removed the exposed hinges on the doors in preference of hidden ones, as that’s a lot of work, especially since older minis with the old doorhinges are more valuable, as well as other small details on the car which don’t add up suggest this is a much newer car.
I’m not saying it is one of these for certain, but in 1996, a run of around 25 minis were converted into wagons that looked like this for the Japanese market; from what I’ve heard, these were very professionally done, and are obviously pretty rare. Based on what I can see of this car (paint, interior, etc) many of the details other than the wheels of this car match up with a 1996 Mini Cooper 35, so it possibly could be one of these. Unfortunately, I don't know much about these conversions other than a few basic details, but it could be one of these, or a restored wagon using a weird range of parts; if you know any more about this car, I'd love to hear it though

I wish I had seen this post before I left the dealer! Very interesting. I wouldn’t be surprised if it was a recreation, because it seems like every MINI dealer has some sort of classic Mini in the showroom.

Haha, I can't be sure, obviously, but there's some hints that there's more than meets the eye with this car...
